This week was all about Emily's new bike! I purchased a brand new, still in the box, never been opened bike in February at a consignment sale ($20!). The original plan was to give Emily the bike as a birthday present (in August). Well, she out grew all of her trikes and it was time to move her to a real bike. Sunday afternoon Brad put the bike together and Emily loves it!
Saturday, April 21 - We went to lunch with my brother and mom Saturday afternoon. Emily and Billy played in the fountain. Emily loved grabbing all of the coins out of the fountain and throwing them back in.
Sunday, April 22 - Riding her bike! Such a happy girl!
Monday, April 23 - After school we went to Target to get her new helmet. She was so excited to get the helmet, she wore it around the store, wore it in the car, and even when she was done riding.
Tuesday, April 24 - Emily has been doing so good with potty training. A friend from work bought this balloon for her to celebrate all of her hard work. She loves the balloon, but I'm not sure it's the best behaved balloon. Emily has put it in timeout several times. Apparently the balloon "wasn't listening."
Wednesday, April 25 - Watering the flowers. She's moved on from the watering can to the hose.
Thursday, April 26 - Doesn't everyone climb over Daddy to get into bed?
Friday, April 27 - Exercising on the elliptical.

Project 365 - Week #16
I was on my own this week - Brad was in New Jersey for work Monday - Friday. Emily and I stayed very busy this week; we had something planned every night. The biggest thing we've been doing this week is working on potty training. E has been doing great!
Saturday, April 14 - Emily has been asking to fly a kite for a long time. Saturday, we went over the school field and tried to fly our kites. It was a windy day, but the wind would not cooperate with us. Emily ran all over the field trying to get her little ladybug kite to fly. Brad and I fought with the purple kite. We finally got the ladybug up for a couple minutes. Emily was happy and tired. She's already asking to do it again.
Sunday, April 15 - We got ice cream after dinner. This is Emily's cup of ice cream - strawberry ice cream with Reece's Pieces. I just liked the cup, so I took a picture.
Monday, April 16 - Emily is really into Mr. Potato Head lately. We played with him a lot Monday night.
Tuesday, April 17 - We had a few minutes to kill between the time that I picked her up from school and our dinner plans. We stopped at the mall and Emily picked out these new shoes. I had fun putting these shoes in front of white wrapping paper and playing with the settings on my camera.
Wednesday, April 18 - Mimi and Nonie (E's grandmothers) came over for dinner. After dinner E, Mimi, and Nonie played and played and played. Emily loves the "Where's Waldo Books" - she is really good at finding Waldo.
Thursday, April 19 - E's Mr. Potato Head creations.
Friday, April 20 - Emily requested that we plant flower Friday morning. So, we got up bright and early Friday morning and bought lots and lots of flowers for the backyard. I let her pick out the type and color. These are my favorite pink flowers that she picked out.

Project 365 - Week #15
This has been a strange, strange week. The whole week just felt a little bit off. It went by really, really fast (good thing!) but it was just strange.
Saturday, April 7 - Aunt 'Ney, a friend's mother, sends Emily a dollar every holiday. Emily loves to get Aunt Ney's cards in the mail and put her dollar in her piggy bank. While she was riding her trike on Saturday, I checked the mail and Emily's card arrived. I told her she had some mail and she stopped riding her bike in the middle of the street to open her card. She LOVES getting mail from Aunt Ney!
Sunday, April 8 - Easter Sunday! It was a great day. Brad wasn't feeling well, so Emily and I went to church alone. She sat though the service with me and did great (she is usually in the nursery). Following church, Emily and I had Easter lunch at Whataburger (her choice). After Emily woke up from her nap, she opened her Easter basket, and we headed to Mimi's house for an egg hunt and dinner with the family. Emily had so much fun looking for eggs and being the center of attention. I'm not sure if Emily was more excited for Easter or Christmas.
Monday, April 9 - My job opted to close the Monday after Easter instead of Good Friday. I had the day to myself! Banjo and I cleaned out Emily's closet and caught up on a few things that needed to get done around the house. This is Banjo with her new duck. She loves this duck and won't leave it alone.
Tuesday, April 10 - After dinner Emily got pink eye. One second it wasn't there, the next her all was red and gross. We made a quick trip to Care Now for eye drops. This is how Brad entertained Emily while we waited for the doctor.
Wednesday, April 11 - I took Emily to work with me Wednesday morning. She was great and enjoyed all of the attention from my co-workers. She was watching a movie on my laptop and playing with a keyboard that wasn't hooked up to a computer. She was a little board at this point. Not long after I took this picture, she was doing forward rolls down the hall and yelling at people to come play with her.
Thursday, April 12 - Making a bead necklace.
Friday, April 13 - We had dinner with friends Friday night. This is Emily and her buddy Kyle. Emily loves Kyle and thinks that "he's silly!" (Kyle's mom is Aunt Ney)

Project 365 - Week #14
This was a crazy week! The last day of camping, Emily's baptism, tornadoes, and prepping for Easter. It's been a crazy week around our house. I'm so glad the week is over!
Saturday, March 31 - E and Brad returned from camping early that afternoon. We took it easy around the house the rest of the day. Emily made an Easter Bunny
Sunday, April 1 - Emily's baptism! This is a picture of our family with our sweet pastor, Rev. Estee. Emily isn't too sure of Estee in this picture, but she really does love Estee. The second picture is Emily and me at lunch after church. I don't have many pictures of me with Emily and this is one of my favorite.
Monday, April 2 - Emily has been taking a tumbling class on Mondays. We got to the rec center a little bit early, so I let her play in the lockers. She was happy.
Tuesday, April 3 - Tuesday was stressful. Tornadoes came through our area and neighborhood. Thankfully, we were not home when the weather hit. Our house and street are just fine, but others that are so close to us weren't nearly as lucky. Many, many, many people have lost their roofs and several have lost everything! These pictures are just a small sample of the damage within a third of a mile of our house. The last one shows Emily's innocence throughout the whole thing. She had no clue what was going on - she was just happy we were spending so much time outside (we had no power). It's a huge blessing that there haven't reports of major injuries and no deaths. The day was so scary and unreal.
Wednesday, April 4 - Playing with her kitchen.
Thursday, April 5 - E playing store with Nonie. E loves to take your order and bring back whatever you request.
Friday, April 6 - Sitting in the turtle at the zoo.

Project 365 - Week #13
This has been a busy week! Sunday evening we took our family pictures - they came out great! During the week we had something every night except Wednesday. Friday night Brad and Emily went on a Daddy/Kid camping trip with our Sunday School class. All of the girls enjoyed a night at Painting with a Twist.
Here are the pictures for the week:
Saturday, March 24 - We went to a birthday party at a jump house played. Emily LOVES this place! She was happy to bounce and bounce. She even managed to win some candy from one of the claw games.
Sunday, March 25 - We took family pictures at TCU. Emily's reward for being so good during the pictures, was a few minutes of playtime in Frog Fountain. She was such a happy little girl!
Monday, March 26 - This is our new pinwheel in the backyard. I love the rainbow colors.
Tuesday, March 27 - Ready. . . set. . . jump
Wednesday, March 28 - This is Emily's Mr. Potato Head drawing. She always draws him sideways, I don't know why, but it's cute.
Thursday, March 29 - We love the Mavs. Emily loves Dirk. She can find him anywhere on the court. It's adorable.
Friday, March 30 - Emily wanted to make cookies to share with her friends on the camping trip. She's putting the sprinkles on the cookies before we pack them up. The second picture is our picture of our finished paintings from Painting with a Twist - so much fun!
